WHAT'S YOUR DAY LIKE?
As a Punch Press Setup/Operator at PTI Technologies in Oxnard, CA, you will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality aerospace manufacturing. Your responsibilities will include reviewing and adjusting time standards, preparing and updating manufacturing work instructions, and maintaining the equipment in your department. You'll analyze and resolve work-related issues while keeping accurate time and production records. The role also requires estimating, requisitioning, and inspecting materials, along with setting up dies and operating shop equipment. You'll coordinate tool maintenance and identify tooling needs to meet production schedules, while actively participating in process improvement initiatives with our Manufacturing Engineering team. Additionally, training staff and ensuring machinery operates efficiently will be key aspects of your job, allowing you to lead by example. WOULD YOU BE A GREAT PUNCH PRESS SETUP/OPERATOR?
To excel as a Punch Press Setup/Operator at PTI Technologies, a strong combination of analytical, design, and problem-solving skills is essential. You should be adept at synthesizing complex information and designing workflows to enhance efficiency. Creativity in generating solutions and attention to detail when translating concepts into practical applications are vital. Strong problem-solving abilities are necessary to identify and resolve issues promptly while working collaboratively in group environments. Technical skills play a crucial role, requiring a dedication to continuous learning and knowledge-sharing. Candidates should have an Associate's degree or equivalent experience, along with at least two years in a related field. Proficiency in software like Microsoft Outlook, CNC Pro Machine Programming, WDS modules, Excel, and MS Word is required. Familiarity with CAD/CAM programs, machine shop practices, and the ability to read safety and operational documentation will enable you to succeed in maintaining high standards within our aerospace manufacturing process.
