Job Description

Job Summary Acme Machine operator/set-up person to monitor and/or set up machines to run contract manufactured parts for various Price Manufacturing customers. Person will be responsible to run/monitor 2 or more machines simultaneously and confirm acceptance of the product to be 100% conforming to the customer specification drawing Duties and Essential Job Functions Stock up and /or set up the machine, monitor production using handheld measuring instruments and comparators, inspection tools, and any equipment listed on the inspection reports. Perform 1st article inspections on all new set-ups or tooling replacement. Perform maintenance on machines at prescribed intervals. Log production lots and heats on daily traveler tickets. Follow written work instructions for all assigned jobs. Grind and sharpen tools if trained to do so. Enter data on SPC collector. Work with the production and quality team for problem-solving and corrective action implementation. 100% screen non-conforming product if necessary. Keep work area clean. Follow company safety and quality procedures. Personal Effectiveness Competencies Motivation, dependability, and reliability shown through prior work history. Academic Competencies Basic mathematical skills are required and testing will verify competency. Use of measuring instruments is required and testing will be conducted to prove competency. Must be able to speak English and read in English. Workplace Competencies Must be able to follow company safety and work instruction, work well under pressure, and sometimes meet multiple deadlines. Shall at all times demonstrate cooperative and civil behavior with colleagues and supervisors. OccupationalIndustry-Wide Technical Competencies Proficient at machine stock-up procedures, in-process inspection during production, reading blueprints to understand dimensions and tolerances, and follow quality and safety procedures of the organization. Must be able to use handheld micrometers and measuring instruments, comparators, and height gages. Learn problem-solving technical skills to correct machine processes. Grind tooling, replace tools and cams. Work within ISO standards, aerospace and automotive-specific requirements, (FOD, AAM, etc). Show care in the use of company-owned instruments. Management Competencies Leadership skills and innovative thinking will be evaluated in all and used in cases of promoting from within for vacant management or supervisory positions.

Trainees will receive training on safety and work-related topics and procedures at intervals deemed appropriate by their skill level and supervisor.
