This position is responsible for machine setups, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of all production equipment, as well as provide continuous improvement to the preventive maintenance process. Mechanic will have primary home department (Bindery or Inserting).Trade school students, graduates, technicians, and mechanics are strongly encouraged to apply!
Perform Simple setups on machines in a timely manner.
Maintain production standards. Report any production, quality or safety problems to the supervisor immediately.
Perform daily/weekly/monthly preventive maintenance on machines as necessary. Contribute to PM planning.
Perform minor electrical testing, such as, change fuses and fix broken wires.
Perform small parts replacement and some repairs as needed:
Utilize MicroMain system for all repairs/parts. Follow all crib procedures, find parts (look up in system and locate), complete all paperwork etc. to ensure accurate parts inventory.
Move to other areas or perform other duties as directed by supervision.
Comply with company rules and regulations.
Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.
Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department.
Keep manager/supervisor informed of activities and situations that will affect the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives.
Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCETrade school plus 1-2 years experience in machine repair or equivalent.
COMPETENCIESAbility to use basic hand and power tools, such as:
Standard and metric wrenches and socketsScrewdriversElectric meters and testersSawsDrillsElectric sander/grinderMachine shop toolsExperienced with standard and advanced toolsComputer literacyAbility to comprehend parts/operator manuals.
Good Communication skills, verbal and writtenRequire technical expertise to effectively read, follow and comprehend technical manuals to run and adjust machines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain safe work environment and follow all company safety protocols.Perform Simple setups on machines in a timely manner.
Bindery:
Ehret lines. Setups for 1up, 2up,Interstack Single Plow, Buckle Folders, KTI Auto Splice, Web Guides, Registration, Pressing StationsInserting:
MSD and Epic lines. Setups for #9/#10 and 6x9 including friction/rotary feeders, double detection, thin and thick work, card attached, IMB camera, loading templates/modesRead job recaps thoroughly and check jobs as to accuracy, reporting any error or discrepancy to the supervisor immediatelyClean machines prior to setups and inspect the machines as a preventive maintenance measure.Maintain production standards. Report any production, quality or safety problems to the supervisor immediately.

feed rolls/belts, water nozzles, minor transport repairsRespond to machine problems throughout the shift. Diagnose problems and perform minor repairs and adjustments as quickly as possible to avoid production delays.Utilize MicroMain system for all repairs/parts. Follow all crib procedures, find parts (look up in system and locate), complete all paperwork etc. to ensure accurate parts inventory.
