Digital Press Operator

Role Overview:

As a Digital Press Operator, you will manage print setups by confirming that ink, stock, and text align perfectly with project specifications. Your role involves fine-tuning equipment to guarantee that all output adheres to GSP quality and efficiency benchmarks. Beyond operation, you will oversee the upkeep of your machinery and workspace, while also providing guidance and training to team members as needed.

Core Tasks and Accountabilities:

Demonstrate proficiency in operating and configuring at least two distinct press models. Configure printing equipment to align with GSP and broader industry standards. Ensure all work order details, such as job numbers, color specifications, and file accuracy, are verified through thorough first-article inspections. Adjust press settings as necessary to help the team consistently achieve high-quality output. Strive to meet or surpass established productivity and print efficiency goals. Report any technical malfunctions or operational hurdles to supervisors and maintenance staff. Finalize all necessary daily and weekly documentation. Maintain a comprehensive understanding of GSP operational workflows and internal procedures. Document maintenance activities and track equipment downtime as instructed. Uphold a clean and organized press environment while performing routine machine upkeep. Assist with various additional tasks across departments to support overall operations. Compensation begins at $18.00 per hour, adjusted based on your professional background.

Background and Expertise:

Prior experience with 4-color printing processes is highly desirable.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

A background in mechanical operations is considered a plus. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and a meticulous eye for detail. Handle high-volume workloads while ensuring the accuracy and quality of every project. Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and minimize potential interruptions to the production flow. Possess a solid grasp of fundamental math, including fractions and percentages. Successfully complete a standard skills assessment. Demonstrate the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English effectively. Capable of lifting weights of at least 50 lbs. Maintain flexibility to work weekends and overtime hours when necessary. Prioritize workplace safety to help foster a secure environment for the entire team. Work effectively as an independent contributor with minimal oversight. Maintain clear, professional, and respectful communication across all organizational levels.
