Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Wide Format Finisher with 5-10+ years of hands-on experience in large-format print production. The ideal candidate is an expert in mounting, laminating, and finishing a wide range of materials, including fine art prints, and has extensive experience working with all types of substrates. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and a strong understanding of production workflows to ensure the highest quality output.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform professional mounting and laminating of wide format prints using a variety of techniques and equipment Handle fine art mounting and finishing with exceptional care and archival standards Mount prints onto ALL types of substrates (e.g., foam board, Sintra/PVC, acrylic, aluminum, wood, etc.) Trim, cut, and finish prints to exact specifications using hand tools and finishing equipment Operate and maintain laminators, mounting presses, cutters, and other finishing machinery Inspect finished products for quality assurance, ensuring alignment, cleanliness, and defect-free output Collaborate with production and print teams to meet deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency Package finished products securely for delivery, transport, or installation Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
Qualifications:
6-10+ years of experience in wide format finishing or a related field Proven expertise in mounting, laminating, and finishing across a wide range of materials and substrates Strong experience with fine art handling and archival mounting techniques Familiarity with industry-standard finishing equipment and tools Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship Ability to read and interpret job tickets, specs, and measurements accurately Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot finishing challenges Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Physical ability to lift and handle large-format materials
Preferred Skills:
Experience with CNC cutting, laser cutting, industrial cutting tables, and automated/digital cutting systems Knowledge of color management and print production workflows Experience with gallery, museum, or high-end retail display production Familiarity with art handling, crating, or installation practices is a plus
