Post Press Bindery Operator 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Indiana Printing and Publishing Company, Inc. is currently hiring for a full time Post Press Bindery Operator!
Job Objective:
Sets up, operates, and maintains various bindery and finishing equipment to complete printed materials according to customer specifications and quality standards.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Setup and Operation:
Read job tickets to determine finishing specifications (cutting, folding, scoring, binding, etc.) and set up and operator post-press machinery, such as cutters, folders, stitchers, and binders.Quality Control:
Inspected collated, stitched, or unbound product samples to ensure accuracy and overall print quality before, during, and after the finishing process.Finishing Tasks:
Perform manual and machine-assisted finishing tasks, which may include trimming edges and packaging.Maintenance:
Perform routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs on finishing and bindery equipment to ensure optimal performance.Material Handling:
Collect, package, and prepare completed printed materials for shipping or delivery.Coordination:
Communicate and coordinate with press operators and shipping personnel to maintain a smooth workflow and meet production deadlines.Safety:
Adhere to all safety protocols when operating machinery and handling materials.Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience operating bindery and finishing equipment in a commercial printing environment preferred but not required. We will train the right candidate. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for equipment issues. Excellent attention to detail for quality assurance. Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical instructions. Physical ability to stand for long periods. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, push, pull, bend and stoop. Be a team player Be punctual Must be able to pass a background check Hours 8:00am- 4:00pm, Monday
- Friday with weekends as needed. Rate of pay $15.00
