Description This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of a CNC Brake Press. The operator will also assist other machine operators with any of their daily duties including area housekeeping, maintenance work, and material storage. Reads job specifications and blue prints to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by drawing requirements.
Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece.
Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work pieces. Work requires the ability to inspect bent parts with inspection equipment. Work requires the demonstrated ability to read manufacturing drawings. Previous work experience on a Brake Press is highly preferred. Knowledge of and ability to identify different types of metals highly preferred. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to have the ability to concentrate and perform responsibilities by maintaining a constant state of focus and mental alertness. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands (including gripping & grasping) and reach with arms. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee will frequently walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/ or move a minimum of 50 lbs. Specific vision requirements such as color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
