The Finishing Foreman will report directly to the Director of Manufacturing Operations and is a non-exempt position with SMP Industries, Inc. The basic function of this position is to work closely with, and direct, other team members to complete assigned tasks on time in a manner that aligns with the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization. This position is a manual labor position and the ability to follow directions is critical. This position requires common sense, logical thought processes, and the ability to work in a safety conscious manner. The person in this role is a fundamental part of ensuring that our finishing operations run smoothly and successfully every day. Specific Responsibilities Supervision of paint department Perform all daily chemical readings and record in log book Monitor and input of time / utilization of labor Ensure all company policies are followed including safe practices Planning and communication with Fabrication for utilization of resources Ensure all PM's are done in timely fashion Clean and prepare parts as necessary for powder coating applications Operate washing and curing oven to ensure proper adhesion Apply powder coat to parts using a powder coat sprayer Transport finished and unfinished product to and from the appropriate work areas using forklift Perform work in adherence with quality standards Practice safe work habits, following safety guidelines with respect to operation and personal safety gear, and support safety initiatives Additional responsibilities: Always maintain a well-organized clean paint area Clean and maintain spray booth, production line and preparation area Provide training to other employees in the preparation and proper application of powder coat operations Other duties as directed This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the associate(s) incumbent in this position.
