Job Description
This position has one primary function at our facility, to convert and finish roll labels. Daily tasks for this position include: Reads and understands job tickets to determine product specifications. Sets up and maintains slitter/rewinder converting equipment; load roll, guiding system, blades for slitting, and cores. Operates equipment, slitting rolls to final size. Brings machine up to optimal speeds for the product being run. Monitors operation of machinery to ensure product is being run efficiently while making any required adjustments. Adjusts speed, tension and pressure settings as necessary to maintain proper web tension. Converting operator responsible for converting and finishing custom labels.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Converting operators will Laminate/Flood coat, spot gloss, die cut and convert finished rolls of labels. Troubleshoot and correct any issues that arise during the production run. Assist in converting and printing labels to spec following all quality control procedures and processes. Work as a team to keep our label press running at maximum capacity, minimizing downtime and making rolls of high-quality finished labels. Follow our Manufacturing Schedule and work with Production management. Ensures company policies and quality control procedures are being followed. Maintain a clean & organized work space and assist in maintaining housekeeping Follow standards and safety initiatives throughout production area. Understand tension and pressure to ensure smooth operation. Skills required to be an excellent fit for this role: Attention to detail Reliability to be on time and ready to work Eager to learn and take responsibility for important production processes. Ability to lift up to 80Lbs Willingness to learn our processes and procedures Ability to troubleshoot and think outside the box Basic computer skills (navigating folders and saving files) Ability to read and understand job specs and instructions. Important things to know about this position: 3-day work weeks, full time status, Overtime is available. $22hr- $25hr 100% covered heath, vision, dental and life insurance options.
