The Edge Banding Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining edge banding machinery to apply edging materials (PVC, ABS, wood veneer, or melamine) to cabinet components. This role ensures high-quality finishes, precise measurements, and adherence to production schedules while maintaining safety and efficiency standards. Key Responsibilities Operate edge banding machines to apply edging to cabinet panels and components. Read and interpret work orders, technical drawings, and measurements. Inspect materials before and after processing to ensure quality standards. Adjust machine settings (temperature, pressure, feed speed) for different materials. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of edge banding equipment. Troubleshoot minor machine issues and report major malfunctions to maintenance. Maintain accurate production records and report output to supervisors. Follow all plant safety protocols and wear required PPE. Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals. Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred. Prior experience in woodworking, cabinetry, or manufacturing is an asset. Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and technical drawings. Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to lift panels and materials up to 50 lbs. Team-oriented with good communication skills. Work Environment Fast-paced manufacturing floor in non-climate warehouse Exposure to noise, dust, and adhesives. Standing for long periods and handling materials.
