JOB DESCRIPTION GLUE OPERATOR

Objective :

Producing high-quality, value-added material for finishing processes. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Set up and operate folder/gluer equipment to job bag specifications Daily reporting of performance, quality and other actions related to finishing process Determine materials needed, organize and delegate accordingly Organize job sequences efficiently and seamlessly Coordinate, train, develop and mentor crews for optimal production and teamwork results Monitoring make ready, maintenance and down time for optimal efficiency Continually inspect and maintain appropriate adhesion of glue, tags, labels, etc. Monitor carton functionality throughout the finishing process Proactively troubleshoot, analyze and conceptionalize outcomes Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas Other duties as assigned Competencies Able to work independently and in a collaborative team environment Able to work in a fast-paced office with strong motivation and sense of urgency Understanding of geometry and math to calculate angles and lines of multi-sided shapes Advanced communication, organization and time management skills Strong mechanical aptitude

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities but is expected to delegate tasks, coach and assist in the development of team members. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work on the production floor, surrounded by other employees. It is fast-paced and requires positive social interaction. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Use of pallet jack, hand truck, forklift, gluing systems, and auxiliary systems. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, crouch, walk, reach with hands and arms and use fingers.

Vision abilities include:

close vison, peripheral vision, depth perception color identification and the ability to adjust focus.

Communication abilities include:

talking, writing, typing and hearing. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and regular hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Overtime may be required when production schedules dictate.

Travel:

No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience High school diploma/GED and completion of glue apprenticeship program, or an equivalent number of years of education and 3 years of experience in paper/packaging/folding carton manufacturing. Preferred Education and Experience Bi-lingual Additional Eligibility Qualifications Legally eligible to work in the United States and successful completion of background and drug screens.
