Job Description

MDI Imaging & Mail is a full service direct mail production firm located in Cascades, VA. We provide 4-color printing, comprehensive data processing, high-speed laser/inkjet personalization, and a wide range of domestic and international mailing services. As a one-stop-shop, we partner with our clients to handle all aspects of their mailings, from creative inception to delivery.
Reports to:
Lettershop Manager Works closely with: Account Managers, Lettershop Manager, Warehouse personnel, DP, Laser Bindery and Inkjet personnel.
Job Overview:
MDI Imaging & Mail is a high-volume direct mail production company serving political campaigns, advocacy organizations, and committees nationwide. We're hiring a Quality Control Specialist to be the eyes and ears of our production floor — making sure every job runs accurately and on schedule. What You'll Do Build production samples for the Lettershop Manager prior to each run. Perform hourly QC pulls from running machines to verify accuracy of personalization, addressing, and mail-piece integrity. Track down verified approvals from Account Managers — and don't release jobs without them. Confirm all materials are on-site, counted, and staged before each scheduled job. Flag missing materials, proof discrepancies, or quality issues early, before they impact the schedule. Stop production and escalate when a defect is found. Log QC checks and pull final mailing samples for retention. What We're Looking For Exceptional attention to detail — you naturally notice things that are slightly off. Ability to manage multiple jobs at different stages without losing track.
Strong organizational habits:
you take notes, keep logs, and don't rely on memory. Comfortable communicating directly with managers, account teams, and machine operators. Able to stand, walk the production floor, and lift up to 30 lbs throughout an 8+ hour shift. Reliable attendance and willingness to flex hours during peak mail cycles. Nice to Have 1-3 years in print, lettershop, mailshop, or other production environments. Familiarity with USPS mail classes and sort levels. Experience with inserters, inkjet addressing, folders, or variable data printing.
