Job Description
The Opportunity:
The Offset Press Operator is responsible for operating and overseeing printing press operations to ensure high-quality production, safety, and efficiency. This role reviews production tickets, prepares and adjusts press equipment, directs press crew activities, monitors print quality, performs routine maintenance, and ensures customer specifications are met throughout the production process. A typical day includes setting up jobs, verifying inks and materials, making press adjustments, inspecting output quality, and completing production documentation. How you will impact

Review job tickets todetermineproduction requirements, sheet quantities, ink specifications, and customer expectations. Verify that supplied inks match approved customer and production specifications in partnership with the Second Pressman. Adjust printing units tomaintainproper control, registration, and print quality. Mount printing plates and prepare the press for production runs. Make necessary ink and water balance adjustments tooptimizepress performance. Operate console and auxiliary system controls effectively to support productionobjectives. Direct and perform preventive maintenance activities to keep equipment operating reliably. Continuously inspect work quality to ensure compliance with customer specifications and company standards. Complete production reports, quality documentation, and related records accurately. Lead and direct press crew activities to maximize productivity, quality, and workplace safety. Performadditionalduties asassigned by management.
What you need to succeed:
Previousprinting press operating experiencerequired. Strong communicationskills and attention to detail. Ability to use a densitometer and accurately interpret readings. Ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and rarely lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods, including shifts of 8 hours or more. Ability to work overtime as needed to support vacations, absences, and production demands. Ability to bend, twist, and kneel throughout the work shift. Ability to use hands for grasping, pulling, and pushing activities. Ability to perform work at or below shoulder level. Commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
