Job Description
Winpak Control Group Inc. is seeking a CI Press Operator to join our Printing Department based out of Norwood, New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient operation of a Central Impression printing press to produce high-quality printed materials that meet customer specifications and regulatory standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to lead press operations while ensuring consistent quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Operate, set up, adjust, and shut down the CI printing press in accordance with job Spec Sheets. Program and control press parameters including print repeat, registration, web tension, drying, chilling, and material thickness. Install and set plates, anilox rolls, doctor blades, tint rolls, and rewind cores. Establish proper color laydown sequences and blend, tone, and apply inks and coatings to match approved samples. Verify correct materials, inks, varnishes, and tooling prior to and during production. Monitor press performance, ink flow, ovens, splicers, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance needs. Conduct in-process quality inspections, including color registration, consistency, dot gain, print length, trim, and adhesion. Troubleshoot press and print quality issues; flag defective material and pull QA samples. Direct and support press crew activities; assist with training and prioritization. Communicate effectively with supervisors, QA, art coordination, and plate making regarding corrections or changes. Accurately document production data, quality results, and job changes. Maintain press ownership, housekeeping standards, and readiness for upcoming jobs. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent. 3+ years of experience operating CI or similar high-speed printing presses. Strong working knowledge of inks, anilox systems, plate mounting, registration, and web handling. Ability to read and interpret job specifications and technical documentation. Proven troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Basic math skills, including metric conversions, and ability to use measurement tools. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience with CI laminating presses or advanced web handling systems. Additional Details This is a full-time position . This position is 100% onsite in Norwood, NJ.
Wage Range:
