Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Machine Operator for printing to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating various printing machines, including large-format printers, ensuring high-quality output and efficient workflow. This role requires a solid understanding of machine operation, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with graphic design and prepress software. The ideal candidate will play a key role in translating production documents into finished printed products while maintaining safety and quality standards. Duties Operate and monitor printing machinery, including large-format printers, to produce high-quality printed materials. Set up and adjust presses according to job specifications, ensuring proper alignment, color calibration, and machine settings. Interpret production documents and specifications to determine the correct printing procedures and parameters. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printing equipment to minimize downtime. Collaborate with prepress teams to prepare digital files using graphic design software and prepress software for optimal printing results. Ensure mechanical components of the machines are functioning properly through regular inspections. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times. Monitor print quality throughout the production process and make adjustments as needed to meet quality standards. Keep accurate records of job details, machine usage, and maintenance activities. Skills Mechanical knowledge related to printing equipment operation and maintenance. Proficiency in operating various printing presses, including large-format printers. Experience with press operation, including setup, calibration, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with graphic design software (such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator) for file review and adjustments. Knowledge of prepress software for preparing digital files for printing. Ability to interpret production documents accurately to ensure correct job execution. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control throughout the printing process. Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues efficiently. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
