3rd Shift Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sheetfed Press Operator to set up, operate, and maintain sheetfed printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials that meet customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of press operations, color matching, quality control, and troubleshooting. This position plays an important role in maintaining efficient production while ensuring printed products consistently meet quality, safety, and productivity standards. Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate sheetfed printing presses according to job specifications.

Load and properly position paper stock and other printing materials.

Adjust ink and water balance and calibrate color settings for each job.

Perform color matching and make adjustments to achieve accurate, consistent results.

Monitor ink density, registration, color consistency, and overall print quality throughout production runs.

Compare printed materials against color proofs and job specifications.

Troubleshoot common press issues such as streaking, smudging, misregistration, and other print-quality problems.

Make necessary press adjustments to maintain consistent quality and minimize waste.

Perform routine press maintenance, including cleaning and lubricating components.

Change rollers and blankets as needed and monitor ink and water levels.

Identify mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions and report them to management.

Monitor inventory levels of paper, ink, and other pressroom supplies.

Coordinate with inventory personnel to ensure materials are available for scheduled jobs.

Complete job tickets and accurately document production information.

Record production issues, downtime, and press adjustments.

Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

Properly use PPE and safely handle inks, chemicals, and other pressroom materials.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications

Previous experience operating sheetfed printing presses is required.

Strong understanding of press setup, operation, color matching, and quality control.

Ability to troubleshoot and make adjustments during production runs.

Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform routine press maintenance.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Ability to read and follow job specifications and production instructions.

Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with production and management teams.
