Job Description

Looking for a 3rd shift commercial printing press position? Would you like a three day set schedule work week - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 5pm to 5am? Join our dynamic printing team as a 2nd Pressman specializing in Web Offset Press operations! In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting the setup, operation, and maintenance of high-speed web offset presses to produce top-quality print materials. Your expertise will ensure smooth production workflows, impeccable print quality, and efficient handling of large-scale printing projects. McAdams Graphics offers advanced data services, high-speed inline single-pass printing, die cutting, folding and gluing inline, and high-volume mailing services. No other printer has these capabilities in the greater Milwaukee area. Job Responsibilities Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety & housekeeping procedures related to press and crew. Prepare the press and assist the Lead Operator in making any needed adjustments (i.e., color, registration, folds, perforations, mounting plates, paper change, color change, etc.). Learn how to set-up up the Rotary Cutter. Monitor press operations throughout production runs, making adjustments to maintain optimal print quality and minimize waste. Responsible for filling ink fountains, gluers, roll changes, stacking, using a fork truck or hand truck and assisting other team members as needed. Conduct routine inspections of press equipment, performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical or technical issues promptly. Position Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. 5-10 years experience in inline finishing with a strong understanding of print manufacturing processes. Ability to perform quality control inspections with keen attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in troubleshooting press issues and performing basic repairs or adjustments. Working knowledge of color, registration, press procedures, press terminology, job flow, etc. Basic math skills and strong mechanical aptitude.
