Job Description

This position will initially be hired through a staffing agency on a temporary basis with opportunity for permanent hire after 90 days.
Summary:
A General Assembler is responsible for operating equipment in a factory or warehouse and preparing items for distribution. Performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass-product products such as valves for plumbing and heating purposes by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities:
  • Assemble components accurately, thoroughly and quickly to approve specifications and quality standards
  • Places parts in specified relationship to each other
  • Bolts, clips, screws, or otherwise fastens parts together
  • Tends machines, such as automated machinery, to perform operations on assembly line
  • Rotate through multiple stations on a shift to be familiar with all assembly
  • Communicate with other stations on the assembly line to ensure maximum speed and accuracy
  • Routinely practice 6s (Safety, Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
  • Ensures that workstation is clean and free of hazardous materials
  • Conserve resources and supplies to facilitate minimum waste
  • Packs up completed products and prepares them for shipment
  • Reports issues or problems with production (equipment defects) to immediate Supervisor
  • Observe and removes fault product parts from assembly line
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Consistently demonstrates and incorporates principals of safety for self and others into daily activities. Attends required safety training and participates in safety exercises
  • Develops and maintains a clean, safe working environment for self and co-workers
  • Consistently maintains acceptable level of productivity
Skills:
  • Required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
  • Required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel components or using controls on an assembly machine
  • Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, 15 pounds, & 20 pounds
  • Required to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Often performing repetitious motions
