Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Painter to perform aircraft painting, finishing, and related surface preparation activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on aircraft paint experience, strong airframe knowledge, and the ability to work safely in elevated and confined work areas. Responsibilities Perform aircraft surface preparation, including sanding, stripping, cleaning, masking, and priming. Apply aircraft paint systems, primers, topcoats, and related coatings according to technical specifications. Read and interpret aircraft maintenance manuals, engineering documents, and vendor documentation. Use aircraft airframe nomenclature to identify and communicate technical information. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to aircraft painting and finishing activities. Communicate technical information effectively with the paint shop and other team members. Use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook to document and communicate work-related information. Work from aircraft stands, lifts, and other elevated platforms as required. Safely perform work on aircraft fuselages and other elevated surfaces using required fall-protection equipment. Follow all applicable safety procedures when working with paint, primers, solvents, strippers, and other chemical products. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years of aircraft airframe nomenclature experience. At least 2 years of aircraft paint experience within the last 5 years. Ability to read, write, and understand technical information. Strong understanding of the metric system. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Strong communication and technical documentation skills. Ability to work extended periods standing, kneeling, and climbing aircraft stands. Ability to work at heights of up to 20 feet. Ability to safely wear a respirator and required personal protective equipment. Ability to use required harness and fall-protection equipment when working on aircraft fuselages. Ability to perform work from an aerial lift. Ability to meet required vision and color-perception standards. Physical & Safety Requirements Must be able to climb aircraft stands and work at elevated heights. Must be able to stand, kneel, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods. Must be able to work around paint, solvents, primers, strippers, fumes, and dust. Must be able to wear a respirator and comply with required respiratory protection procedures. Must be able to safely perform work using fall-protection equipment and aerial lifts.
