Job Title:
Assembler Job Description The Assembler plays a key role in building high-quality products by following detailed work orders and blueprints, using a variety of hand and power tools. In this role, you complete assembly tasks within estimated time frames, collaborate closely with a production team to meet schedule commitments, and actively support safety, quality, and 5S housekeeping standards in a modern manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and detailed instructions to assemble products according to specifications. Perform mechanical assembly using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools. Complete assigned work within established and estimated time frames while maintaining quality standards. Collaborate with team members to ensure products are produced on time and production goals are met. Communicate machine issues, production challenges, or quality concerns promptly to the lead or supervisor. Participate in 5S activities, including cleaning, organizing, and maintaining a well-structured work area. Follow all company policies and procedures, including safety, quality, and housekeeping requirements. Use measuring tape and other measuring tools to take accurate measurements and verify component dimensions. Convert decimals to fractions as needed for measuring and assembly tasks. Perform basic quality inspections on assembled components and finished products to ensure they meet specifications. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safety protocols at all times. Stand for extended periods (8-10 hours per day) and lift up to 50 lbs as required by production tasks. Utilize basic computer skills to access work instructions, enter production data, or support documentation needs. Essential Skills 0-2 years of experience in assembly or manufacturing environments. Ability to read and understand detailed instructions and blueprints. Proficiency in using measuring tape and other measuring tools accurately. Ability to convert decimals to fractions for measurement and assembly tasks. Experience using hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly. Capability to perform mechanical assembly in a production setting. Basic computer skills for accessing instructions and recording information. Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per day in a production environment. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly. Knowledge of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and its proper use. High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certificate. Additional Skills & Qualifications Manufacturing experience, particularly in metal fabrication or metal joining. Experience in mechanical assembly beyond entry-level tasks. Experience with progressive stamping operations. Skill in performing quality inspections and identifying nonconformities. OSHA certification or safety-related training. Familiarity with framing and construction-style assembly tasks. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings. Work Environment The role is based in a clean, safe, climate-controlled production facility designed to support comfort and efficiency throughout the workday. The environment is heavily team-oriented, with departments working closely together and a strong emphasis on collaboration across the entire facility. You will use hand tools, power tools, measuring tools, and standard PPE while working on your feet for most of the shift, typically 8-10 hours. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
