Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling overhead garage doors using hand and power tools, ensuring each product meets precise specifications. You will follow blueprints and schematics, perform light wiring when needed, and prepare finished products for shipment through careful boxing and packaging. Responsibilities Assemble overhead garage doors using hand tools and power tools according to detailed instructions. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine correct assembly steps and component placement. Use measuring tapes to verify dimensions and ensure all products meet specified client requirements. Perform light wiring tasks as needed to complete the assembly of overhead garage doors. Inspect assembled products for quality, accuracy, and completeness before packaging. Box and package completed products securely to prepare them for storage or shipment. Maintain a clean, organized work area and handle tools and equipment safely. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in a fabrication shop environment. Essential Skills At least 6 months of experience in mechanical assembly. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Proficiency using a measuring tape accurately for precise measurements. Experience using hand tools such as wrenches and drills. Experience using power tools commonly used in fabrication and assembly. Ability to perform light wiring tasks safely and correctly. Strong attention to detail to ensure products meet exact specifications. Ability to work effectively in a fabrication shop environment that may be loud and subject to varying temperatures. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with fabrication processes, including basic welding, is beneficial. Familiarity with using a variety of hand and power tools in a production or shop setting. Comfort working with mechanical components and following technical instructions. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a fabrication shop that can be loud and subject to varying temperatures, including hot and cold conditions. The shop is relatively small, which supports close collaboration with coworkers and quick access to tools and materials. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, measuring tapes, and other fabrication equipment while standing, moving, and handling materials throughout the shift. Appropriate work attire suitable for a fabrication and shop environment is expected to ensure safety and comfort. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mankato, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
