You'll assemble, inspect, and test precision lens components in a clean, controlled environment. This is a 3-month temporary role built as a pathway: high performers who show strong technical skill and a desire to learn will be considered for a permanent Junior Lens Technician position. What You'll Do Assemble lens elements, housings, spacers, and retaining hardware according to drawings, work instructions, and tight tolerances Clean, inspect, and verify lens surfaces and assemblies for defects such as scratches, digs, chips, and contamination Use measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, microscopes, and optical test equipment Help troubleshoot assembly problems and suggest process improvements Keep the work area organized and follow all safety and quality standards
Growth Path:
Junior Lens Technician At the end of the 3-month period, temps who perform well may be offered a permanent role, which includes: Training on optical alignment, centering, and bonding/cementing Hands-on work with optical metrology equipment Supporting engineers with prototype builds, testing, and root-cause analysis Growing responsibility for process documentation and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For Required:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Optical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or related), or currently completing one Strong technical aptitude and mechanical skills Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for handling small, delicate parts Close attention to detail and commitment to quality Basic computer skills (Excel, data entry) Reliable, eager to learn, and comfortable taking direction
Preferred:
