Full Job Description About Us:
Sutton Ag has been serving the Agriculture Industry for 60+ years, specializing in planting and bird control needs of the Salinas Valley. Our products include various types of seed planters, harvesters, precision weeding equipment, bird scare cannons, and much more. We pride ourselves in our reliability, providing the best service, repairs, and equipment to our long-standing customers. Responsibilities may include (but not limited to):.
Fabrication:
  • Check measurements and dimensions of each piece that's being worked on
  • Mark spots to cut and use tools to manipulate steel, plastic or other materials by cutting, hammering, bending or grinding the workpiece
  • Review blueprints, drawings and other specifications before starting work on a fabrication process and during the steps to ensure accurate completion
  • Maneuver tools, such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears and flame cutters to cut, bend, grind and adjust materials
  • Weld components in various positions
  • Make templates for common work tasks when conducting repetitive motions for the fabrication process to ensure a set standard of work quality
Repair:
  • Dismantle equipment to remove and repair defective parts, using various hand tools.
  • Reassemble equipment following repair, testing equipment as necessary
  • Tune-up and clean equipment, as needed
  • Record repairs made, parts used, and amount of time spent on each task
Qualifications:
  • Welding & Fabrication experience
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of the day
  • Ability to lift a minimum of ~25 lbs on a regular basis
  • Strong manual dexterity
  • all jobs require working with your hands
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
