MANAGER OVERVIEW
The Prefab Assembler works in the prefabrication shop to better understand the electrical field while assembling electrical components for field teams.
Compensation for this role:
$20.00 to $24.00 Depending on Experience General Responsibilities
  • Works with a commitment to safety

  • Keeps work area clean
  • Installs quality work in a neat and workmanship like manner
  • Treats tools with respect
  • Works and climbs on ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms
  • Identifies electrical parts and components
  • Perform strenuous physical work i.e., digging, kneeling, shoveling, lifting, pulling, pushing, climbing
  • Keeps up with changing technology
  • Keeps up with the national electrical code
  • Wears tools at all required times
  • Work in all weather conditions Specific Responsibilities
  • Work in the prefabrication shop to fabricate small electrical pieces
  • Ensure housekeeping in the prefabrication shop is under control
  • Prepare and pack boxes to be filled with completed prefabrication material and shipped to the jobsite
  • Fabricate plugs and switches, recessed cans, and other repetitive work
  • Perform duties as assigned by lead personnel Other duties as may be assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of:
  • Basic wok ethics (coming to work on time every day with all appropriate attire and tools)
  • How to learn by doing and through example Skill in:
  • Using basic hand tools
  • Using Bandsaw, Sawzall, Battery Drills, and Power Drills
  • Using basic cleaning tools
  • Understanding and taking direction
  • Knowledge retention
  • Performing work with hands Ability to:
  • Discriminate between colors
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
A functional physical is required to be completed and passed before work can be performed in all field positions. The physical requirements can often be completed repetitively and for extended periods of time .
These requirements include:
  • Driving
  • Sitting
  • Climbing
  • Lifting, floor to chest (up to 50lbs)
  • Lifting, floor to waist (up to 50lbs)
  • Lifting, waist to overhead (up to 30lbs each arm)
  • Carrying (up to 50lbs)
  • Standing
  • Stooping
  • Vision acuity (near, far and without color deficiencies)
  • Walking
  • Kneeling
  • Trimming (final installation of electrical devices)
  • Pushing (up to 100lbs)
  • Pulling (up to 100lbs)
REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED Required.
