Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling pump assemblies at an individual workbench using small hand tools and torque wrenches. You will follow detailed work orders and read blueprints to build components accurately and efficiently while working independently. Responsibilities Assemble pump assemblies and related parts according to work orders and blueprints. Use small hand tools, torque wrenches, and other equipment to complete assembly tasks safely and accurately. Follow detailed work instructions and specifications to ensure correct assembly of all components. Work independently at a bench within a small work cell, managing your own workflow and priorities. Inspect parts and assemblies for accuracy, quality, and proper fit before moving them to the next stage. Apply strong mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot basic assembly issues and ensure proper operation of assembled units. Handle and move materials and components, including lifting items up to 50 pounds as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with industrial safety standards. Document work as required, including recording completed tasks or noting issues with parts or assemblies. Essential Skills At least 2 years of assembly experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Proficiency using small hand tools and torque wrenches for mechanical assembly work. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders accurately. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how parts fit and function together. Basic electrical understanding related to assembly work, as applicable to the products. Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly and adherence to specifications. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly as part of daily tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience assembling pumps or similar mechanical equipment. Work Environment This position is based in an industrial setting with small work cells and individual bench work. The standard shift runs from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on first shift. You will work primarily at a bench using hand tools, torque wrenches, and related equipment to assemble pump components. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and attention to detail, with physical requirements that include lifting up to 50 pounds. Typical industrial attire suitable for a manufacturing floor is expected. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Athens, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $18.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
