BASIC PURPOSE
The Assembler performs manual labor in a production cell. This role also operates and troubleshoots production equipment and performs minor adjustments as necessary.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB
Operates production equipment. Assists in troubleshooting production equipment. Performs equipment changeovers. Makes adjustments as necessary to produce product within specifications. Rejects product outside of specifications. Operates within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and special instructions (SIs). Completes daily production logs. Performs preventive maintenance (PMs) on production equipment. Communicates with operators from other shifts. Cleans and maintains work area. (5S) Assists mechanics and machinists in repair work. Provides on-the-job training to new employees. Performs ancillary duties as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required. The ability to stand for long periods up to eight or more hours at a time Able to work in noisy environment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and the ability to distinguish between subsets of individual colors and quality of colors.
