Job Description

Assembler Job Description This role involves assembling products and working closely with an assembly lead who will guide your daily tasks until you can work independently. Using basic hand and power tools, you will measure, cut, and fold according to specifications, and handle large materials in a clean, climate-controlled production environment. Responsibilities Work closely with an assembly lead at the outset to understand daily tasks, production priorities, and quality expectations, progressing to independent work as proficiency increases. Assemble products using basic hand tools such as pop rivet guns and hand drills, following established procedures and safety guidelines. Use a tape measure and, when needed, micrometers to verify measurements and ensure panels meet required dimensions and tolerances. Fold, route, and rivet panel excursions and components to create finished panel assemblies that are ready for installation on commercial buildings. Handle and route full sheets of aluminum composite material (ACM), converting them from full-size sheets into correctly measured parts for assembly. Lift and maneuver large sheets of material, including panels up to approximately 16 feet by 4.5 feet, as part of the routing and assembly process. Follow production plans and work at an assembly line or production station to meet daily and monthly output targets. Interpret and follow blueprints or production drawings as needed to ensure accurate layout, cutting, and assembly of panels. Operate basic power tools and general production equipment safely and efficiently in a manufacturing environment. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and housekeeping standards within the facility. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with leads and supervisors regarding progress, issues, or needed support. Support overtime needs by staying late or coming in early when required to meet production demands, while minimizing weekend work. Essential Skills Ability to use basic hand tools such as pop rivet guns, hand drills, and similar equipment in an assembly or production setting. Ability to accurately use a tape measure and learn to use micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances. Capability to perform physical work, including regularly lifting materials and panels weighing up to 75 pounds. Experience or strong aptitude in assembly, production, or general labor within a manufacturing environment. Comfort working with power tools and general production equipment in a safe and controlled manner. Ability to read and follow basic blueprints or production drawings, or willingness to learn with training. Strong attention to detail to ensure panels are cut, routed, folded, and riveted accurately to specification. Reliability in maintaining consistent attendance and completing a full 40-hour workweek. Willingness to work early first-shift hours and support flexible start times as needed. Ability to work effectively as part of a team, take direction from an assembly lead, and transition to working independently. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in assembly line work, panel fabrication, or aluminum composite manufacturing is helpful but not required, as training is provided. Experience in general manufacturing or production environments, particularly with building or construction-related products, is an advantage. Familiarity with routing equipment or working with large sheet materials is beneficial. Comfort working toward production targets and contributing to team-based bonus goals. Willingness to follow and maintain safety practices, including use of appropriate footwear and attire. Openness to learning new tools, processes, and quality standards as the role evolves. Why Work Here? The company offers a clean, climate-controlled facility with an air-conditioned environment that supports comfort and safety throughout the year. Team members can participate in a monthly bonus pool based on exceeding panel production targets, with payouts timed before the holiday season, and temporary employees are also eligible when meeting expectations. Once converted to direct employment, you gain access to comprehensive benefits including medical, health, dental, and vision coverage with employer contributions, as well as 401(k) matching after six months. Paid time off accrues quickly, with 1-2 weeks available within six months, and employees also benefit from internal care programs, vouchers toward eyewear or boots via payroll deduction, and company-provided shirts. The organization values flexibility, offering some flex time for personal needs as long as communication is clear and weekly hours are maintained. The culture emphasizes appreciation and team spirit, with occasional pizza for the team, company outings and gatherings, paid holidays even while working as a temporary employee, and raises based on performance outcomes. Work Environment This role is based in a leading aluminum composite fabricating facility that produces exterior panels for commercial buildings. The environment is clean and climate controlled, with air conditioning in the summer to support comfort during physical work. The facility has roughly 110 employees, creating a mid-sized workplace where you can get to know your teammates while still benefiting from structured processes and support. Work is primarily on a first shift schedule, typically from 5:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with some flexibility to start as late as 6:00 a.m. Minimal weekend work is expected, and when overtime is needed, employees may choose to stay late or come in earlier, depending on preference and production needs. The dress code allows for practical and comfortable attire, including jeans, shorts, and T-shirts, paired with required steel-toe footwear to maintain safety on the production floor. The work involves frequent use of hand and power tools, routing tables, and handling large aluminum composite panels, so employees should be comfortable in a hands-on, physically active manufacturing setting Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anamosa, IA.
