Job Description

Assembly Technician (1st Shift | No Weekends) Build Something That Moves the World Forward 🚦 We're looking for a hands-on Assembly Technician to join our team and build portable traffic signal systems from the ground up. If you enjoy working with tools, following blueprints, and seeing a finished product come together, this is a great opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive, team-focused environment. What You'll Do Assemble portable traffic signal units from start to finish using blueprints, diagrams, and work orders Perform mechanical assembly using hand and power tools (fastening, fitting, and installing components) Complete basic electrical wiring and connections following schematics Measure, cut, and prepare materials to ensure proper fit and alignment Perform light finishing work including sanding and component preparation Inspect assemblies to ensure quality, accuracy, and functionality Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals Assist with testing and quality checks of finished units What You Bring At least 1 year of manufacturing or assembly experience Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics Experience with basic electrical wiring or assembly Ability to accurately use a tape measure and hand tools Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to stand, bend, and work with tools throughout the shift Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with mechanical assembly (equipment, engines, or similar products) Basic soldering and electrical connection experience Familiarity with electrical schematics Experience in manufacturing, construction, or other hands-on industries Experience with inspections and quality checks Why You'll Love Working Here βœ… First shift schedule β€” no nights or weekends βœ… Supportive, family-like team environment βœ… Flexible culture that understands life happens βœ… Opportunities to learn and grow your skills βœ… Leadership that values collaboration, attitude, and development Who Thrives Here This role is perfect for someone who: Enjoys building and working with their hands Takes pride in producing high-quality work Wants to grow in a stable, team-oriented environment Shows up with a positive attitude and willingness to learn If you're ready to build something meaningful and be part of a team that genuinely supports each other, we'd love to hear from you. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterloo, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
