JOB SUMMARY
The Assembler expertly performs repetitive bench or assembly operations to produce products as described below. Key Responsibilities Assembles and tests hydraulic valve assemblies in an assembly environment. Responsible for assembly related inventory systems used to maintain inventory levels. Identifies low inventory levels and communicates such findings to department supervisor in a timely manner to avoid any negative impacts on production. Identifies areas of improvement for assembly procedures, fixtures, or testing. May be required to take on new projects for set up of build benches, test stand, assembly equipment, etc. Initiates subassembly schedules and levels by directing Assembler "B" employees' work load and direction. Performs various assembly operations by placing parts in specified blueprint relationship to each other. Bolts, clips, screws, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together. Complete all associated paperwork as required for the job. Operates machines, such as arbor presses or riveting machine, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line. Train new and existing employees on assembly procedures and processes. Identifies and reports problems with assembly, tooling or material shortages to supervisor and makes recommendations for problem resolution. May be required to receive and verify incoming product and requisition stock to replenish inventory. Performs a variety of complicated tasks using sound judgement with little or no daily supervision. Required Skills & Competencies 3+ years related work experience with assembly operations. High school diploma preferred or equivalent Physical & Work Environment Requirements Regularly required to stand and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours. Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend. Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycles work. Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Understands and observes all necessary safety procedures: safety glasses, shoes, ear protection, machine interlocks, lifting guidelines, etc. as designated in specific work area assigned.
