Job Title:
Assembler Job Description Seeking a detail-oriented Small Assembly Technician to build precision components such as switches, sensors, and electronic assemblies. This role involves handling small parts, using hand tools, fitting and connecting components, and performing basic inspections. Candidates must have strong hand-eye coordination and the ability to follow detailed instructions while maintaining high quality in a repetitive, production-driven environment. Responsibilities Assemble products and components using hand and power tools in accordance with established procedures and specifications. Inspect assembled products to verify they meet quality standards and identify any defects or nonconformities. Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment to ensure consistent and efficient output. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, following all safety policies and procedures. Handle and move materials and components, including lifting up to 30 pounds on a regular basis. Identify and report equipment, safety, or quality issues and assist in troubleshooting basic problems. Participate actively in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, production efficiency, and product quality. Communicate clearly with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and improvement ideas. Follow written and verbal work instructions, production schedules, and documentation requirements. Collaborate with coworkers to meet production goals and support a smooth workflow across the team. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with hand and power tools for small assembly work. Ability to safely lift and handle up to 30 pounds on a regular basis. Previous manufacturing experience in a production or assembly environment. Demonstrated precision and attention to detail when performing assembly and inspection tasks. Strong analytical skills to interpret information and concepts related to production and quality. Ability to collaborate effectively in a team while also working independently with minimal supervision. Excellent observation skills to notice key details and potential issues in products or processes. Troubleshooting skills to help resolve basic production, equipment, or quality challenges. Creative thinking and idea generation to support process and quality improvements. Clear and effective communication skills for sharing information, concerns, and suggestions. Additional Skills & Qualifications Comfort working with machinery and production equipment in a manufacturing setting. Willingness to participate in continuous improvement and problem-solving activities. Ability to follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures consistently. Capability to operate or learn to operate powered industrial trucks as required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Freeport, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
