Job Description

Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role involves deburring, detailing, assembling, and testing standard, special, and custom accumulators in a manufacturing environment. You will work from detailed drawings and specifications, use a variety of hand and power tools, and complete inspection and test documentation while helping ensure products meet quality and performance standards. Responsibilities Perform deburring, detailing, assembly, and testing of accumulators according to drawings, parts lists, specifications, and instruction manuals. Assist with the detailing, assembly, and testing of standard, special, and custom accumulators as production demands require. Complete and file inspection and test reports accurately and on time to support quality and traceability requirements. Maintain all tools, fixtures, and assembly equipment in proper working condition and promptly report any malfunctions or issues. Perform or assist with final product operations, including painting, rust prevention, packing, and crating, to prepare units for shipment. Use basic shop mathematics and interpret a variety of inspection tools and gauges in different applications to verify dimensions and tolerances. Operate and safely use hand and power tools, including air tools, to complete mechanical assembly and related tasks. Measure and verify components using precision measuring tools such as calipers and other gauges to ensure accuracy. Follow written and verbal instructions, including blueprints and parts lists, to assemble products correctly and efficiently. Handle materials and components safely, regularly lifting up to 40 pounds and using lift assistance for heavier items in accordance with safety procedures. Support wiring and basic mechanical connections as required for the assembly of accumulators and related components. Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work area by following housekeeping and safety guidelines. Essential Skills High school diploma or GED equivalent (proof required). Around 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment. Around 1 year of mechanical assembly experience. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, parts lists, specifications, and instruction manuals. Ability to use basic shop mathematics in daily tasks. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools, including air guns, in a production or assembly setting. Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and other inspection gauges. Ability to regularly lift up to 40 pounds, with adherence to lift assistance requirements for 41 pounds or more. Familiarity with assembly line or production environments and related processes. Capability to use tape measures and other measuring devices accurately. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components and assemblies. Ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with wiring in a mechanical assembly environment. Previous work in carpentry, construction, or similar hands-on trades that involve hand and power tools. Experience in deburring, detailing, and final finishing of mechanical components. Comfort working with rust-preventive processes, painting, packing, and crating. Strong attention to detail and quality when completing inspection and test reports. Good communication skills for working from instructions and coordinating with team members. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Machesney Park, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
