- Job Description The role involves working in the optical wire department, where you will be responsible for checking the quality of small plastic connectors.
You will use a magnifying glass or microscope to inspect these clear plastic pieces for imperfections such as black spots or bubbles. Additionally, you will assemble the connectors onto the end of fiber optic cables, crimp them, and perform testing. This is a repetitive job with small parts, requiring both sitting and standing throughout the day, with minimal lifting involved. Responsibilities Inspect small plastic connectors using a magnifying glass or microscope. Identify imperfections such as black spots or bubbles on clear plastic pieces. Assemble connectors onto the end of fiber optic cables. Crimp connectors and conduct testing. Perform repetitive tasks while alternating between sitting and standing. Essential Skills At least 6 months of assembly experience. Proficiency in using hand tools. Ability to perform repetitive work while standing for 8-10 hours. Flexibility to be cross-trained and assist in other areas of the plant. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in die cutting or stamping is a plus. Familiarity with blueprints, electrical work, wiring, and soldering is advantageous. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naperville, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
