Job Title:

Industrial Assembler Job Description The Industrial Assembler is responsible for the assembly of test filtration machinery, ensuring it meets both production and quality standards. This role requires selecting assembly methods and procedures based on blueprints to fit parts according to tolerances and operating requirements. The Industrial Assembler will use both hand and power tools, align subassemblies, cut and fit pipes and tubing, and conduct operating tests and final adjustments. Responsibilities Fit, align, and assemble manufactured or purchased parts, motors, pumps, and sub-assemblies into completed units. Make necessary electrical and piping connections. Position parts according to the layout of the unit being assembled or as per engineering drawings. Fasten parts together using bolts, screws, speed clips, or other fasteners. Drill and tap holes for fasteners. Visually inspect parts and assemblies for fit and surface defects, and report discrepancies to the supervisor. Remove small quantities of metal with hand files to achieve a close fit between parts. Test components and units for proper operation. Essential Skills Proficiency in troubleshooting and mechanical assembly. Experience with hand and power tools for machinery assembly. Knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation. Understanding of hydraulics, wiring, and preventive maintenance. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with machine building and welding. Previous experience in maintenance technician roles. Work Environment This position offers a choice between first shift (5:00am - 3:30pm) and second shift (3:15pm - 11:45pm), with a 30-minute lunch break. The base workday is 8 hours, with the possibility of extending to 10 hours as needed. Flexibility to work on Saturdays is required, with a maximum of 8 hours. The work environment is well-lit, featuring a building with character built in 1906, complete with several windows. Temperature control varies with the season, but fans and open doors provide ventilation during summer. Employees are provided with cold drinks and frozen treats during the warmer months. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
