The Fabrication Technician will independently fabricate and assemble skid-mounted pump systems, interpreting drawings and ensuring work meets quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Fabricate and assemble skid-mounted pump systems, including frames and piping Interpret blueprints, drawings, and P&IDs with minimal supervision Perform cutting, fitting, grinding, and layout work accurately Align and install pumps, motors, valves, and piping systems Perform tack welding and assist with final weld prep (or weld if certified) Verify dimensions and tolerances using measuring tools Identify and troubleshoot minor fabrication issues Operate shop equipment (saws, grinders, drill presses, forklifts if certified) Maintain safety compliance and work quality standards Qualifications High school diploma or GED; trade school preferred 2-5 years of fabrication or mechanical assembly experience Ability to read and interpret detailed drawings and P&IDs Proficient with fabrication tools and measuring instruments Strong understanding of mechanical systems and piping layouts Preferred Welding experience (MIG, TIG, Stick) Experience with skid systems or pump packages Forklift/crane certification Key Competencies Problem-solving Mechanical proficiency Time management Quality awareness
