Responsibilities:
1. Line Loading & Unloading (Material Handling) Manually lift, move, and hang heavy fabricated steel and iron components onto moving overhead conveyor hooks according to uniform production schedules. Ensure parts are hung with proper spacing and orientation to guarantee maximum coverage during the washing, priming, and automated painting/curing cycles. Carefully remove finished, oven-cured parts from the racks, avoiding any scratching, scuffing, or dinging of the fresh coating. Wrap, stack, palletize, and label completed metal parts to secure them safely for storage or final shipping. 2. Surface Preparation & Masking Inspect raw metal parts arriving from the welding and punch press stations for sharp edges, weld splatter, rust, or surface defects. Prepare metal surfaces for optimal paint adhesion using hand and power tools (e.g., wire brushes, grinders, sanders, and chemical degreasers). Apply high-temperature masking tape, thread protectors, and silicone plugs to specific areas, holes, or threads that must remain unpainted. 3. Quality Control & Line Maintenance Conduct continuous visual inspections at both the load and unload points to catch flaws like runs, light paint coverage, bare spots, or dirt embedded in the finish. Assist the Lead Painter in cleaning and maintaining paint pumps, spray guns, pressure lines, and hooks. Help load/unload materials into the hook burn-off oven to keep the line infrastructure free of excessive paint buildup. 4. Safety & Housekeeping Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace around the paint booth, conveyor line, and staging areas by sweeping and disposing of hazardous waste properly. Strictly follow all shop safety rules, chemical safety protocols (SDS), and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, ear protection, and appropriate respirators when necessary.

PM Skills:
Must be able to routinely lift and carry up to 25 lbs consistently, and up to 55 lbs occasionally unassisted. Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach overhead, and twist repeatedly for an entire 8-to-10-hour shift. Comfort working in varying industrial environment temperatures (the facility can range from warm to hot due to the presence of high-temperature drying/curing ovens).
