Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role involves assembling mirrors and related components for the bus and trucking industry in a fast-paced assembly line environment. You will use hand and power tools to assemble parts, perform light wire assembly, and carry out visual inspections to ensure high-quality finished products. The position also requires maintaining a clean and organized work area and accurately measuring components during the assembly process. Responsibilities Assemble mirrors and related components for the bus and trucking industry according to production specifications. Work on an assembly line, completing assigned tasks efficiently to meet production targets. Attach mirrors to plastic components using appropriate tools and methods. Use hand and power tools safely and effectively throughout the shift for various assembly tasks. Read and use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and ensure proper fit of components. Perform visual inspections on completed parts to confirm quality and identify any defects or inconsistencies. Complete light wire assembly on non-live (dead) wires as part of the overall mirror assembly process. Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized work environment, including workstations and surrounding areas. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating tools and performing assembly work. Support general labor and light industrial tasks related to production and assembly as needed. Essential Skills Experience using hand tools in a production or assembly environment. Experience using power tools safely and effectively during assembly tasks. Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs on a regular basis. Experience in general labor, light industry, or assembly line work. Consistent and reliable work history demonstrating good tenure. Additional Skills & Qualifications Blueprint reading experience is a plus. Previous assembly experience is preferred. Familiarity with mechanical assembly processes is beneficial. Attention to detail and quality-focused mindset. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a light industrial, assembly line production environment focused on manufacturing mirrors and related components. You will work primarily on a first shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Friday reserved as an overtime day when needed. The position involves regular use of hand tools and power tools, as well as tape measures and other basic measuring equipment. The work requires standing for extended periods, performing repetitive assembly tasks, and lifting up to 30 lbs. The facility emphasizes cleanliness and organization, and you are expected to help maintain a tidy work area while following all safety procedures and guidelines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkhart, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
