Job Description

Assemble roof and/or wood floor trusses by performing one or more repetitive work, on an assembly line and following the specifications of the work order. This requires processes such as material insertion, fastening, part adjustment, and the use of some hand tools. Premier Building Supply is hiring in our Spring Hill, KS facility. Our dedication to providing high quality products and providing outstanding customer service has helped us grow to become a leader in the marketplace today. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Accurately read and interpret the drawings with the designs of the trusses that are required to assemble according to the drawings.
  • Assemble the ceiling and floor trusses correctly, matching the specifications of the wood and plates Connectors with the instructions of the work order.
  • Operate the staple gun to hold the wooden pieces and facilitate assembly (applies to some assembly lines).
  • Ensures that the connector plates are dimensioned and placed correctly at the assembly points of the trusses, following the design instructions.
  • Press the connector plates with the pressure press (roll).
  • Mark the finished trusses with the part number and work number.
  • Willing to teach/ coach others as needed.
  • Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized.
  • Another task as necessary or indicated by the Management. Qualifications .
  • Able to read and write in their primary language.
  • Ability to accurately interpret drawings of trusses designs.
  • Ability to follow safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measurement, using integers, common fractions, decimals.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to work in a team. Job Requirements
  • Few extended hours, as needed.
  • Working in a manufacturing environment with high temperatures, noise, and dust.
  • Working on and around machinery and associated safety risks.
  • Working outdoors in extreme heat to cold temperatures.
  • Exposure to changing types of weather conditions.
  • Exposure to wood dust and debris.
  • Exposure to falling and flying particles. Physical Requirements
  • The work requires standing for long periods of time.
  • The work requires lifting to 50 pounds and occasionally requires elevating or pushing up to 110 pounds.
  • The work requires to bend over ground level repetitively.
