Our design department is looking for someone with craft experience (ribboning, creative design, product merchandizing) and excellent customer service. Attention to detail and following careful assembly instructions is a must. Seasonal part-time hours (9am - 5pm) working in North Easton, MA. Some weekend shifts are required around holidays. Must be available to work a minimum of 3 days/week. Must be able to work 5 days/week from Mid-November- December 2026.
REPORTS TO
Department Manager The Design role is responsible for performing duties to assist the Candy Makers with the design of products for sale in our retail stores. This is not a remote position since the essential functions must be performed at the Company's facilities. As with all positions at Hilliards Chocolates LLC consistent punctual arrival at work, commitment to shift, a "can-do" attitude, and adherence to the Company's policies is expected and is an essential aspect of employment with the Company.
  • Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer
  • Maintain solid product knowledge to assist customers in making product selections
  • Pay attention to small detail on all orders and projects
  • Package products
  • Handle ingredients/finished products with care
  • Inspect products; remove any damaged/broken product
  • Write down accurate weights, measurements and lot numbers for food traceability
  • Arrange product displays
  • Assist customers in locating merchandise
  • Ring up sales at registers (following proper register procedures - clearly state totals to customers and accurately count back change) and/or bag merchandise
  • Monitor loss prevention
  • Maintain an awareness of allergens and product ingredients
  • Foster and exhibit a positive team atmosphere
  • Report any hazards, injuries, or violations immediately to management
  • Attend and participate in employee meetings, trainings, and development as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Management, including working in our Retail store during holiday/busy times Additional job functions include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the department
  • Manage store administrative duties, inventories, etc.
Individual must have excellent communication skills. Individual must be able to read, write, understand and fluently and clearly speak English as required for effective teamwork and coordination to fulfill the essential functions of the job. Individual must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and procedure manuals. Must have knowledge of equipment set-up, operation and break-down. Must have the ability to take instruction and effectively communicate in English to assist Candy Makers with the production and packaging of confections. Bi-lingual skills may be helpful. Individual must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have proficient computer and numerical skills and must have the ability to read, count and write accurately. Must have the ability to make correct monetary change. Must be familiar with all aspects of Hilliards' computer/cash register program(s)/system(s). Individual must have the ability to assess situations and resolve routine matters without supervision. Must have excellent understanding of health and safety and hygiene rules. Must have good attention to detail. Must have good analytical skills to identify the nature of problems, determine what is needed to rectify problems and implement new procedures to resolve the problem. A High School degree, attending or equivalent is preferred. Prior work experience in a production capacity is preferred. Individual must be a positive team player and be courteous. Individual must be able to take instruction and constructive criticism well, work independently and demonstrate sound judgment. Individual must display a professional manner and possess good communication skills when interacting with management, co-workers and customers. Individual must have a self-awareness of their appearance/personal hygiene. The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have excellent fine motor skills and dexterity of wrists, hands and fingers are necessary for set-up and operation of equipment/packaging and measuring and mixing of ingredients. Must be able to reach up and outward with arms and be able to bend at knees. Must have good hand-eye coordination. Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs. unassisted. Must have good powers of observation to spot problems with production/products. Must have the ability to maintain concentration for repetitive tasks. Individual must be able to move freely and easily throughout all areas of Hilliards' facilities. Must be able to work in an environment that processes peanuts, tree nuts and other allergens.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Individual must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule including some evening, weekend and holiday shifts to accommodate the needs of the Company.

  • Must be willing, able and available to work on-site to fulfill the essential functions of this position
  • Must be willing, able and available to work overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays
  • Must be willing to cross-train to learn the essential functions of other positions, depending on the needs of the Company
