Assembler / Molder Job Description This role combines hands-on assembly and molding work in a fast-paced, organized production environment. As an Assembler / Molder, you will use hand and power tools to build and finish products, including inserting metal shells into plastic components and assembling large cable systems for battery mold castings. You will also operate molding machines and ovens to form products from various materials, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to production standards. This position offers clear opportunities for growth across three internal levels and the chance to develop valuable mechanical and manufacturing skills. Responsibilities Use hand and power tools to insert metal shells into plastic components after molding. Run and route cables to assemble into mold castings for batteries, including banding and assembling large cable systems. Operate crimpers to secure connections and insert connectors that are hot out of the oven safely and accurately. Set up, operate, and monitor molding machines and ovens to mold, form, cast, shape, or carve products from one or several materials. Work with molded products that may include items such as tiles, pipes, candles, figurines, and other formed components. Follow detailed work instructions and production specifications to ensure consistent quality and adherence to standards. Maintain a steady work pace to keep up with production requirements in a fast-paced environment. Perform general production and machine operating tasks related to injection molding and assembly. Inspect finished parts and assemblies for defects or inconsistencies and make basic adjustments as needed. Use tooling and work at tool tables to support the assembly and molding processes. Collaborate with team members in an organized, team-oriented work setting to meet daily and weekly production goals. Follow all safety procedures when working with molding machines, ovens, hand tools, and power tools. Stand for extended periods while performing assembly, molding, and general production duties. Demonstrate mechanical aptitude by troubleshooting simple issues and supporting smooth machine and assembly operations. Essential Skills Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for assembly work. Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with mechanical components and tooling. Experience or strong interest in assembly work, preferably with prior assembly experience. Ability to operate basic production and molding machinery, including molding machines and ovens. Comfort working with injection molding processes and general production tasks. Capability to stand for long periods during shifts. Ability to work at a fast pace and keep up with production demands. Reliability in adhering to set schedules: Assembler shift 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; Molder shift 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Basic ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in molding, injection molding, or machine operating is beneficial. Background in general labor, general production, or machine operator assembly is an advantage. Familiarity with plastic molding and automation environments is helpful. Comfort working with hot components, such as connectors coming directly out of ovens. Spanish-speaking candidates are welcome and can be successful in this role. Work Environment The role is based in a structured production facility with an organized and team-oriented atmosphere. You will work around molding machines, ovens, and tool tables used for assembly and molding processes. The environment is fast paced, and you must be comfortable maintaining a consistent work speed to meet production goals. Standard shifts run Monday through Friday, with Assemblers working from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Molders from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The work involves standing for long periods and handling tools, machinery, and molded parts throughout the day. Appropriate work attire and safety footwear are expected to support safe and efficient operation in the production area. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fall River, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
