Operations Job Summary We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Assembly Technician I for a full-time opportunity in Franklin, MA. This position is ideal for candidates with mechanical aptitude, basic manufacturing experience, and the ability to work with hand tools in a fast-paced production environment. The Assembly Technician I will be responsible for assembling extrusion frames, performing repetitive assembly operations, completing in-process quality checks, and supporting final assembly of larger subassemblies. Candidates should be comfortable following work instructions, using basic tools, and working as part of a team to meet production goals. Key Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical assembly of extrusion frames and related components.
  • Complete minimal electro-mechanical assembly using proper grounding techniques.
  • Follow written work instructions to complete repetitive assembly operations.
  • Produce quality work within specified time standards.
  • Perform in-process checks using visual inspection methods and checklists.
  • Use a variety of hand tools, including screwdrivers, hex keys, drills, saws, tape measures, and fixtures.
  • Assist teammates with manually integrating large subassemblies into final assemblies.
  • Support cross-training efforts to improve workflow and reduce takt time.
  • Operate hand pallet jacks to move materials within the plant.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.
  • Work overtime as needed based on production requirements. Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Some manufacturing or assembly experience preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic print reading experience preferred.
  • Experience with wire dressing and termination is a plus.
  • Ability to accurately read and measure using a tape measure.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and basic assembly equipment.
  • Basic math, reading, and communication skills.
  • Basic computer literacy preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Dependable, accountable, and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay organized and complete tasks in a timely manner. Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift materials and products up to 30 pounds.
  • Frequent use of hand tools.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, reach, lift, and move as required.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. Working Conditions
  • Standard manufacturing environment.
  • Safety equipment is required, including safety glasses and safety shoes.
  • Loose-fitting clothing and jewelry are not permitted for safety reasons.
