Job Description

Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role supports both assembly and material handling teams to ensure efficient production and accurate product packaging. You will perform manual and power tool-based assemblies on an assembly line, follow detailed work procedures, and assist with shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations. The position offers comprehensive cross-training so you can become a well-rounded contributor across production and materials functions. Responsibilities Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical components using a variety of hand and power tools on an assembly line. Follow detailed work instructions and documented procedures for each assembly job to ensure quality and consistency. Support robotics assembly and testing activities by performing manual assembly, component testing, and functional checks as directed. Perform visual inspections of components and finished assemblies to identify defects, alignment issues, or missing parts. Assist with material movement, including using pallet jacks to transport materials between warehouse and production areas. Support shipping and receiving operations by helping prepare products for shipment and assisting with incoming inventory. Participate in data collection related to production, testing, and inventory to support accurate tracking and reporting. Track and reconcile inventory to ensure materials and finished goods are properly counted and recorded. Collaborate with team members on the assembly line and in the warehouse to meet production and shipping goals. Train on new duties as needed and apply cross-training to support both assembly and warehouse operations. Work effectively with minimal supervision while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Essential Skills Demonstrated ability to use a variety of hand tools to assemble and repair large mechanical assemblies. Dexterity and fine motor skills for precise manual assembly tasks. Strength and endurance to assemble, install, and test larger components weighing up to 50 lbs. Proficiency with basic power tools such as torque screwdrivers, drills, and related equipment. Ability to read and follow written work instructions for each assembly job. Capability to use pallet jacks for safe material movement. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with coworkers and supervisors. Willingness and ability to train and learn new duties across assembly and warehouse functions. Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Any prior assembly experience, including manual or mechanical assembly, is beneficial. Any warehouse background, including picking, stocking, or material handling, is beneficial. No prior experience is required; candidates will receive training and cross-training for the role. Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and tools, including 5S and Kaizen. Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES). Certificate or degree in electro-mechanical fields. Familiarity with blueprint reading. Exposure to electrical and mechanical concepts or environments. Any type of shipping experience, including packaging and preparing products for shipment. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates on a first shift schedule, typically from 6:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. You will work in a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing and warehouse facility that supports robotics assembly, manual assembly, testing, and material handling. The environment involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, pallet jacks, and inventory systems, with a focus on safety, organization, and efficiency. You will spend time both on the assembly line and in warehouse areas, engaging in physical tasks such as lifting components up to 50 lbs, moving materials, and standing for extended periods while performing assembly and inspection work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Westborough, MA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
