TRUSS ASSEMBLER DEPARTMENT
Manufacturing

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for accurate and efficient fabrication of trusses
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Rotational schedule between various machine centers to include: lumber picker, saw operator, lumber catcher, plate picker, jig, truss stacker, and forklift operator. 2. Properly fabricate roof and floor trusses according to dimensions of trusses as shown on related paperwork 3. Check material for accuracy and quality 4. Inspect finished trusses and ensure proper quantity of trusses is produced 5. Properly organize and cut truss batches 6. Have a working knowledge of and properly use MVP 7. Safely operate all forklifts 8. Keep general area neat and orderly 9. Perform minor adjustments and/or maintenance when needed
DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1.
Minimum:
High school diploma or equivalent. 2. General carpentry. 3. Forklift License
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
1. Good working knowledge of math. 2. Must be able to accurately read tape measures. 3. Comfortable using a hammer
REPETITIVE PHYSICAL DEMANDS
(Sawmill category) 1. Lift 60# from floor to waist; lift 40# from waist to shoulder. 2. Carry 60# over a distance exceeding 12 feet. 3. Push 100# in a wheeled cart. 4. Stand on a cement floor for long periods of time. 5. Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level repeatedly. 6. Reach over head to grasp materials. 7. Ability to walk up and down stairs to access machinery.
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Work in a fast paced environment and be able to do several tasks at the same time. 2. Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for entire shift. 3. Employees are required to wear safety glasses and hearing protection.
