Job Description

Assembler - Manufacturing Westbrook, ME | Contract-to-Hire | $19/hr Join a growing manufacturing team where your hands-on skills make a real impact. As a Production Assembler, you'll help build high-quality, handcrafted metal products that are shipped directly to customers. This is a physically active, stable role for someone who enjoys working with tools, staying busy, and being part of a reliable production team. What You'll Do Assemble handcrafted metal products by following clear work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Use hand tools and power tools to complete mechanical assemblies accurately and efficiently Work with metal components such as cast iron parts at a designated production station Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet company standards Read and follow written instructions, diagrams, or basic blueprints as needed Safely lift and move parts weighing 35-50 pounds throughout the shift Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation Support lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement efforts Communicate issues with parts, tools, or processes to the team Cross-train on additional stations to expand your skills and support production needs
What We're Looking For Required:
Experience in manufacturing, general labor, or production environments Comfortable using hand tools and power tools safely Ability to stand and stay active for 8-10 hours per shift Ability to lift 35-50 pounds consistently Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Willingness to learn new tasks and grow within the operation Preferred (but not required): Mechanical aptitude or mechanical assembly experience Experience working with metal parts (cast iron a plus) Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles Ability to read basic blueprints or assembly diagrams Why You'll Want to Work Here Stable company - no layoffs during challenging periods Four-day workweek (Monday-Thursday, 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) Long-term opportunity with room for advancement Skill development through lean manufacturing training Paid holidays once you convert to permanent status Supportive, team-oriented production environment Take pride in building high-quality, American-made products Work Environment Manufacturing setting with metal components and assembly equipment First-shift team of approximately 50-60 employees Physically active role with standing, lifting, and repetitive assembly work PPE required: steel-toed shoes and long pants Emphasis on safety, organization, and teamwork Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Westbrook, ME. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
