Assembler - 1st Shift- Job Description
- The Assembler - 1st Shift role focuses on performing repetitive, station-based assembly work to build large commercial HVAC units in a modern manufacturing facility.
You will work at a designated station on an assembly line, using hand and power tools to assemble components, follow safety protocols, and support changing production needs. This position offers structured training, opportunities to learn new skills such as brazing and blueprint reading, and the potential to work across multiple plants as operations expand.
- Responsibilities
- + Perform repetitive assembly work at a single assigned station on the production line, following standardized work instructions.
+ Assemble large HVAC units and their components used in commercial buildings such as apartment complexes, hospitals, and other large facilities. + Use hand tools and power tools daily to complete mechanical assembly tasks safely and efficiently. + Adapt to changing work assignments as production needs shift from station to station based on customer demand. + Stand and move around the facility for a large portion of the workday while performing assembly tasks. + Participate in safety training during the first week and consistently adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. + Assist in brazing, soldering, operating machines and presses, hanging and unhanging parts, and performing quality checks and tests once fully trained. + Support the testing of units multiple times before they are shipped, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards. + Identify and report any malfunctions, defects, or issues with equipment or assembled units to the production supervisor promptly. + Enter and work inside large units as needed to properly assemble internal components once training progresses. + Learn to read and understand blueprints to ensure accurate assembly of components and adherence to specifications. + Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring tools and materials are properly stored and readily accessible. + Collaborate with team members and follow guidance from lead technicians to achieve production and quality goals.
- Essential Skills
- + At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
+ Ability to perform physically demanding work, including bending and twisting to enter and work inside large units. + Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repetitively, up to 44 times per shift, based on previous work experience. + Comfort with climbing into large units to complete assembly tasks, in an environment that is not considered confined space under OSHA standards. + Willingness to learn and a positive attitude toward training from the ground up. + Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with tools in a manufacturing setting. + Reliability in following safety protocols and production procedures.
- Additional Skills & Qualifications
- + 1 year of assembly experience.
+ Experience using hand tools and power tools in an industrial or construction environment. + Electrical experience, including familiarity with basic electrical components or conduit work. + Strong mechanical inclination and comfort working with mechanical systems and components. + Ability to read or willingness to learn to read blueprints and assembly diagrams. + Experience working on an assembly line in a manufacturing environment.

- Work Environment
- The role is based in a temperature-controlled, very clean manufacturing facility that assembles large HVAC units.
Workstations are well organized, with tools and materials arranged to support efficient assembly, and testing stations are being built out as part of a newer plant environment. You will work on 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Overtime is typically voluntary, with current operations including work on two out of four weekends, and may become mandatory with notice from production supervision. You will spend much of the day on your feet at a single station, working with hand tools, power tools, and various machines and presses. The facility operates multiple plants, and you may be assigned to or eventually move between plants as operations grow. You will work alongside team members and shadow a lead technician during the first few weeks to ensure you are fully trained and supported in a structured, safety-focused environment.

- Pay and Benefits
- The pay range for this position is $19.
50 - $19.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
