Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role focuses on performing mechanical assemblies to build high-quality lawn care equipment, including aerators and blowers commonly used on golf courses. You will use a variety of hand and power tools to complete full product assemblies from start to finish, working either independently on sub-assemblies or collaboratively in small teams on complete units. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on mechanical work, can follow blueprints or assembly instructions, and takes pride in building durable, reliable equipment. Responsibilities Perform mechanical assembly of lawn care equipment such as aerators and blowers from start to finish. Use hand and power tools, including power drills, torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, and basic hand tools, to complete assembly tasks safely and accurately. Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and assembly instructions to ensure correct component placement and assembly order. Complete sub-assemblies independently or work as part of a two-person team on full assemblies, depending on the department and product type. Assemble equipment at varying production rates, from approximately 15 units per day to 1 unit every 2-3 days, depending on complexity. Follow established manufacturing and assembly procedures to maintain quality standards and product consistency. Inspect your work for accuracy, fit, and function, and make adjustments as needed to meet quality expectations. Collaborate with team members and trainers during the training period to learn best practices and improve efficiency. Maintain excellent attendance and reliability to support consistent production and team performance. Keep the work area organized, safe, and free of unnecessary clutter while handling tools and components responsibly. Stay focused on work tasks during working hours and minimize personal distractions on the shop floor. Essential Skills At least 6 months of experience using hand and power tools in an assembly, mechanical, or related environment. Minimum of 1 year of hands-on mechanical assembly experience. Ability to interpret and follow blueprints, schematics, or detailed assembly instructions (such as those used to assemble furniture or bicycles). Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components and assemblies. Consistently excellent attendance, with no more than one day missed per month. Demonstrated good attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn. Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team to complete assemblies. Capability to follow safety guidelines and use tools correctly and responsibly. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on personal vehicles or performing auto repair as a hobby or previous job. Background as a lube technician or automotive technician is a plus. Comfort working in a manufacturing or production environment. Ability to adapt to changing workloads and production priorities. Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work. Why Work Here? You will join a medium-sized, laid-back shop that offers a supportive and collaborative atmosphere, where trainers and teammates help you succeed as you learn new products and processes. The company provides strong paid time off and benefits, including access to a health app at no cost that offers video and chat access to a therapist or primary-care-style support, with certain medical prescriptions covered. The culture values reliability, steady effort, and clear communication, while maintaining a climate-controlled, comfortable environment that supports long-term, sustainable work. You will have the opportunity to build tangible, high-quality products and develop your mechanical skills in a stable, respectful setting. Work Environment The work takes place in a fairly laid-back, medium-sized, climate-controlled shop that is not overly noisy or loud. The facility is full of product but organized so that people have room to work comfortably. You will primarily build blowers alongside two other team members and may work alone or with a partner depending on the assembly tasks. During training, you will work closely with a trainer on the floor. Production pace can vary, with some periods being more low key and others requiring quick turnaround to complete machines. The schedule is a first-shift role, typically 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Work on Fridays is usually optional and, when needed, is generally only for a partial day until around mid-day. The leadership style on the floor is generally mellow, and while expectations for focus and productivity are clear, the environment remains respectful and professional. Cell phone use is discouraged during work time to maintain safety and productivity. Dress is typical for a manufacturing shop environment, emphasizing practicality and safety while working with tools and mechanical components.
