Job Title:
Assembler Job Description This role focuses on assembling and finishing custom cabinetry for commercial businesses in a fast-paced woodworking environment. You prepare products for finishing, ensure high-quality workmanship, and support the production process from raw parts through to completed, finished pieces. Responsibilities Prepare cabinetry components for finishing by sanding surfaces and filling holes and cracks to achieve a smooth, even finish. Load and unload parts onto the conveyor in a timely and efficient manner while consistently monitoring for quality issues. Apply finish, stain, and paint to cabinetry by hand or using a spray gun, following established quality standards and procedures. Inspect finished products to ensure the quality of the finish meets company standards and customer expectations. Mix custom stains as needed to match specified colors and finishes for various projects. Perform touch-up repairs on finished products to correct minor defects and maintain high-quality appearance. Help maintain finishing equipment by performing basic maintenance tasks and reporting any issues that require attention. Recognize and report quality issues, and actively offer suggestions for process improvements and product enhancements. Communicate continually with the department lead regarding observations, production issues, and workflow needs. Carry out other duties as assigned to support overall production and finishing operations. Essential Skills Ability to accurately use a tape measure for measuring and verifying dimensions. Hands-on experience with general labor tasks in a production or woodworking environment. Proficiency using hand tools commonly found in carpentry and millwork settings. Basic carpentry skills, including framing and assembly of wood components. Experience with sanding and finishing wood surfaces. Knowledge of woodworking processes and materials. Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand and bend for prolonged periods, up to 10 hours per day. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in finish carpentry or millwork is beneficial. Experience in a woodworking or cabinet-making environment is an advantage. Familiarity with operating or assisting with spray finishing equipment. Comfort working in a production environment with repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a woodworking production environment focused on custom cabinetry. The facility is generally clean and organized, with periods where sawdust levels can be higher due to active cutting and sanding. Work involves standing and bending for extended periods, handling wood materials, and operating or working near finishing and conveyor equipment in a shop setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Lonsdale, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
