K Position Summary:
Assemble (construct) sheet metal HVAC equipment casings according to job specifications defined in drawings.
Results Statement:
Produce quality equipment safely, productively, and on time.
Position Responsibilities:
Technical:
Use overhead cranes, power tools, wrenches, levels, etc. Perform mathematical calculations involving addition and subtraction of dimensions represented decimally or in fractions. Read drawings for design, dimensions, and tolerances. Follow manufacturing, materials, and accounting record keeping practices by promptly and accurately logging pertinent information. Tasks in assembly process of units typically include: Level base frames. Fasten sheet metal onto base frames using mechanical fastener. Use drawings to accurately position unit components (heater, fan, etc.) onto base frame. Assemble remainder of structural components (dampers, walls, roof, drip edge, doors, etc.) ensuring safety and quality. Perform mathematical calculations involving addition and subtraction of dimensions represented decimally or in fractions. Read drawings for design, dimensions, and tolerances. Keep Supervisor informed of problems, opportunities for improvement, questions, or comments, related to topics such as workflow, equipment, procedures/work methods, safety, and employees. Recommend changes where appropriate. Adhere to Assembly, Materials, and accounting record-keeping practices by promptly and accurately logging pertinent information. Maintain equipment, tools, and work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Assist in implementation of changes in methods or procedures. Accurately track work hours by job and activity on timecard. Accept other duties and responsibilities as assigned or when required by customer needs.
Interpersonal:
Develop and maintain favorable working relationships with other employees to facilitate the flow of information and ideas for improvement. Seek out Lead or Supervisor to ask questions related to work technique or a particular unit. Seek out Manufacturing Supervisor on questions or ideas related to work flow, hindrances, projects, equipment shortages or problems, procedures, methods, safety, and general employment.
