Job Description
STS Technical Services is hiring Assemblers in Butner, North Carolina, to support equipment assembly in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
This position is responsible for assembling mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components using detailed work instructions, blueprints, schematics and a variety of hand, pneumatic and power tools. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented and comfortable working across multiple assembly areas as production needs change.
Position Overview
The Assembler safely builds equipment according to detailed instructions provided by Supervisors and Group Leaders.
Assemblies vary in size and configuration and require the use of mechanical, electrical and manual assembly techniques. This role also supports accessory installation, drilling and tapping, overhead crane operation and general production activities.
Responsibilities Assemble parts, wires, hoses and hydraulic components using power tools and manual techniques
Install equipment accessories including decals, mud flaps, cameras and lights
Safely operate an overhead crane to position parts
Use hand and pneumatic tools including wrenches, hammers and torque guns
Measure parts and components accurately using tape measures
Drill and tap holes for wires, hoses and small components
Read schematics, blueprints and Standard Work Instructions
Identify required options and assembly requirements
Lift and stack subassemblies and parts weighing up to 35 pounds independently
Participate in team lifts for parts weighing up to 60 pounds
Cross-train and work in multiple assembly areas as needed
Follow written and verbal instructions
Maintain attention to detail and established quality standards
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Follow safety procedures and 6S standards
Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed
Availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays when required by business and production demands
Ability to maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance Preferred Qualifications At least six months of experience in manufacturing or general labor Physical Requirements Ability to lift and stack parts and subassemblies weighing up to 35 pounds independently
Ability to participate in team lifts up to 60 pounds
Ability to safely use hand, pneumatic and power tools
