Job Title:
Assembly Production Associate Job Description The Assembly Production Associate supports a safety-focused manufacturing operation by assembling, inspecting, and packaging parts according to documented procedures and quality standards. This role reads and interprets simple blueprints and work instructions, follows established processes to build components using hand tools and small machinery, and ensures products meet quality requirements before shipment. The position requires strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively on a production line in a clean, climate-controlled environment. Responsibilities Read and interpret simple blueprints, specifications, work orders, and reports to understand assembly processes and quality requirements. Take direction from supervisors to understand daily assembly procedures, production goals, and priorities. Follow established assembly procedures to build parts using hands, hand tools, and small machinery. Position, align, and adjust workpieces or parts to facilitate accurate and efficient assembly. Explain assembly procedures or techniques to other workers to support consistent quality and productivity. Clean parts using appropriate cleaning solutions, air hoses, and cloths to prepare them for assembly or packaging. Examine products to verify quality, including performing Bonnet to Body Testing and ECL inspections to identify quality issues. Determine causes of quality issues and rework parts as necessary to meet specifications. Pack finished parts for shipment, including labeling and bagging parts, adding corresponding instruction information, and placing bagged parts into boxes. Operate light industrial and production equipment as needed, following all safety and standard operating procedures. Assist with general production tasks such as loading, picking, and moving materials as required. Follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures in a production and warehouse environment. Maintain a clean and organized work area to support a safe and efficient operation. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding production status, issues, and improvements. Essential Skills Demonstrated integrity, reliability, responsibility, and accountability in previous work experience. Working knowledge of the English language, both oral and written, to read instructions and communicate with the team. Ability to perform work in a safe manner and follow safety procedures consistently. High attention to detail with strong vision and hearing to inspect parts and identify quality issues. Ability to learn new machines, tools, and production procedures. Capability to lift up to 45 pounds and perform repeated physical tasks throughout the shift. Manual dexterity with coordinated hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects of varying sizes. Ability to stand for 8 hours a day in a production environment. Skill in active listening and following directions accurately. Comfort working in assembly, manufacturing, or light industrial production settings. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in assembly, manufacturing, or general production environments. Background in packing, packaging, or shipping finished products. Experience with machine operation or machine operating in a production setting. Familiarity with forklift operation or general material handling (if previously trained and certified). Exposure to mechanical tasks, power tools, and basic equipment troubleshooting. Experience with inspection or quality checks in a manufacturing environment. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, safety-focused warehouse or production facility. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a standard production and warehouse environment that emphasizes safety and adheres to clear standard operating procedures. The facility is clean, well lit, and climate controlled, providing a comfortable and stable work setting. Orientations take place every Monday from 7:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and new employees begin on their assigned shift the following day. The primary shift available is first shift, running from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The work involves standing for most of the shift, performing repetitive tasks, handling parts, and operating light industrial equipment in a production line setting. Required personal protective equipment includes steel-toed shoes, while safety vests, safety glasses, and ear plugs are provided. Jewelry is not permitted on the production floor, and shoulder-length hair or longer must be securely tied back to maintain safety and cleanliness standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hickory, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
