Job Title:
Fabricator Job Description The Fabricator performs post-processing and finishing operations on manufactured parts, ensuring they meet quality and inspection standards. This role focuses on powder and support removal, pressure testing, and detailed visual inspection while maintaining accurate records in the quality management system and supporting a clean, organized, and safe production environment. Responsibilities Perform post-processing fabrication functions such as powder removal, support structure removal, and part finishing in accordance with established procedures. Conduct detailed visual inspections of parts to verify conformance to quality and inspection criteria. Perform pressure testing on parts to validate integrity and performance specifications. Record technical data accurately to ensure full traceability and support quality control requirements. Assist with plugging and masking of parts in coordination with other departments to support FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention. Support operators with daily 5S housekeeping and organization tasks to maintain an efficient work area. Accurately log part counts, labor hours, and related information into the Quality Management System (QMS). Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping as a high priority to ensure a FOD-free environment. Use hand-held pneumatic and machine tools safely, including chisels, saws, air files, belt sanders, drills, and pencil/die grinders, as needed for fabrication tasks. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to meet production and quality goals. Perform other duties as assigned to support production, fabrication, and quality initiatives. Essential Skills Minimum 1-2 years of experience safely operating hand-held pneumatic and machine tools such as chisels, saws, air files, belt sanders, drills, and pencil/die grinders. Prior experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or production environment preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools. Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to quality. Ability to follow technical instructions, work instructions, and inspection criteria accurately. Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter data and use Quality Management Systems (QMS). Ability to perform accurate data entry for part counts, labor hours, and quality records. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Ability to perform pressure testing and related fabrication tasks following established procedures. Minimum age of 18 years. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in fabrication, production, or quality assurance is highly beneficial. Experience working with FOD prevention practices and 5S housekeeping standards. Familiarity with quality assurance processes in a manufacturing or production setting. Positive, cooperative attitude and willingness to support various production and fabrication tasks. Demonstrated reliability and consistency in meeting quality and productivity expectations. Work Environment This role is based in a climate-controlled production facility designed for comfort and consistency throughout the workday. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:34 p.m. You will work around fabrication and production equipment, including hand-held pneumatic and machine tools such as chisels, saws, air files, belt sanders, drills, and pencil/die grinders. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and FOD-free operations, supported by 5S housekeeping practices and use of a Quality Management System (QMS) for tracking parts and labor. Attire is typical for a manufacturing setting, with appropriate work clothing and any required personal protective equipment to ensure safety on the production floor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Statesville, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
